Narie’s Story

In 1997, Totong Sapoetra opened Otak-Otak Modern (OOM Resto) in Bandung. OOM Resto is widely known in the area and often serves the Indonesian president’s palace.  Recently, Totong Sapoetra’s daughter, Debby Sapoetra, had an idea to expand the business further by creating Narie’s Eatery & Coffee in Gading Serpong. It serves similar food to OOM Resto but in a different way.

Both restaurants use fresh, high-quality, premium ingredients, with no MSG or added chemicals. Interestingly, their traditional otak-otak (grilled fish paste) is made with 98% fish and served with a delicious, thick peanut sauce.

Testimonials

Decided to try this when I was not feeling well, and surprisingly the warmth of the food helped a lot. I felt better straightaway.

The taste was just right, not too much. You can ask for extra sauce and broth for free if you prefer stronger flavors. They cook the food outside, in the front part of the shophouse, not in the indoor seating area — which was great, so it did not make the room smell weird (and no special exhaust/circulation system needed).

The place was also comfortable for working (WFC), with a proper wifi connection. There was also a buy-2-get-1-free promo for all hotplates when we ate here. Awesome!

My favorite is kwetiaw seafood hotplate bcs they got a thick broth, also taste a lil bit sweet so it balances the whole dish. The place, i can tell its so homey, not to mention the toilet is clean! Definitely will come back again!
